One Book July 2017
Yay! Today is officially the first day of One Book July 2017, sometimes referenced as #OBJ2017. If you are unfamiliar with One Book July, I recommend watching this YouTube video by Rhomany from Rhomany’s Realm.
One Book July Versions
One Book July has been going on for the last four years. It was started by YouTuber’s Rhomany, Miss Vicky Bee and Carie Harling. The initial premise, or version 1.0 was to narrow down your planner or journal needs to one book, one pen for one month. It was a way to break out of your comfort zone and try something new, either with your planner or your journal. That version lasted two years.
Last year, Rhomany changed things up a bit with version 2.0, which was one book, one project for one month. And this year, for version 3.0, it’s Go Big or Go Home which can be interpreted any way you like.
Participating in One Book July
Now that you are familiar with One Book July, let me show you how I plan to participate in #OBJ2017.
For the past couple of years all of my planning has taken place in an extra wide traveler’s notebook. This notebook holds inserts that are 8.25″ tall by 5″ wide, so roughly a bit smaller than an A5.
Out of My Comfort Zone
I’ve gotten so comfortable planning in the extra wide. A few months ago, after some encouragement from my friend Cori, I decided to give the B6 a try. So in addition to carrying my extra wide, I added a B6, which is roughly 7″ tall by 5″ wide. Since I received my B6 I’ve been planning in both my extra wide and backing everything up in my B6. A bit redundant!
My plans for OneBookJuly2017 are to do a combination of versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0. My one book will be to carry only my B6, my project will be to clean and organize my dresser and my Go Big or Go Home will be to condense down from the extra wide to just my B6.
As we proceed through #OBJ2017 I will keep you updated on my progress with YouTube videos on my channel and blog posts on my blog.
